Expected Participants: More than 800 females, ranging in age and fitness level, from the state of Georgia and across the country.
Race description:
This event features a beautiful lake swim, a bike course covering the scenic rolling hills of Georgia and a picturesque run through the Lake Lanier Islands Resort.
Participants will receive:
- A USAT-certified course that is perfect for seasoned athletes and novices alike
- Custom awards for the top three finishers in each division
- Personalized race bibs featuring each participant’s first name
- A RYKA performance technical shirt
- ChampionChip timing
- A chance to win exciting post-race giveaways

There will be several inspirational athletes who will stand out of the crowd at the RYKA Iron Girl Atlanta Triathlon. Their stories are included below:
- Sue Hackett, 39, from Decatur, GA, who is a 2006 Ford Ironman Lake Placid finisher.
- Lauren Kester, 14, from Duluth, GA, and Katie June, 14, from Roswell, GA, who are 14 years old.
- Danielle Tardif, 42, from Lawrenceville, GA who overcame ovarian cancer after undergoing surgery and chemotherapy.
In addition, several top Georgia athletes will participate to include:
· Lisa Marshall, 41, from Alpharetta, GA, who was named "Top ten amateur" by atlanta sports and fitness magazine in 2005.
· Kris Kester, 42, from Duluth, GA, a Ford Ironman World Championship finisher with several top finishes on her resume to include a third place age group finish at the 2005 Ford Ironman 70.3 Florida.
